Poppyseeds

Poppyseeds offers a range of two day workshops for gifted children in Kindergarten or who will enter Kindergarten in the next year . Workshop content is designed by teachers qualified in gifted education to stimulate the interests of gifted children and is pitched at Years 1 and 2 levels.

Students are not required to formally qualify for Poppyseeds, however, students should be:

  • Motivated and prepared to undertake a challenging academic program;
  • Able to meet individual selection criteria specified for the workshop for which they are applying (for example, able to read independently or able to perform some addition and subtraction);
  • Able to work in a group environment without additional support;
  • Able to adapt to new environments and people with ease and separate easily from parents;
  • Over 4 years of age and able to use the toilet independently.

A limited number of full, half and part sponsorships are available. Sponsorship places are not allocated on academic merit but on the basis of financial hardship or geographical isolation. More information is available on the Sponsorships page.
