Scientia Challenge and Residential
2009 Dates for Scientia Challenge and Residential stay on UNSW Campus:
21 - 22 January (Residential Students arrive 20 January)
8 - 9 April
8 - 9 July (Residential Students arrive 7 July)
The Scientia Challenge Program is designed for gifted and talented high school students in Years 7-10. The program features a range of workshops from a number of academic disciplines taught over two days. The courses are developed and presented by academics of the University of New South Wales, who are considered the leaders in their fields. The courses are not vocational in nature, rather, they are designed to stimulate the interests of gifted students. The level of difficulty in the courses is aimed at Years 11 and 12, thus providing a rigorous and challenging program for gifted students. The program also provides the opportunity for gifted students to socialise with like minded children of similar interests.
Do you meet the selection criteria for a workshop and residential stay?
The Scientia Challenge Program – RESIDENTIAL
Do you live interstate, in a regional or rural area beyond Sydney, or live within the city, would you like to have fun and get to know other gifted students? Do you want to extend connections and activities beyond the workshop experience?
You may also participate in the Residential Program, involving a supervised stay at a University College with other gifted children for the duration of the Scientia program. All meals are provided, and activities (some of which may involve a small cost) are organised for each evening. Students are fully supervised during the Residential Program.
