Small Poppies

Grade: 1-2; Aged 6-8; Curriculum pitched at grade 3-4

2010 Small Poppies Dates:

14 -15 January
6 -7 April
5 - 6 July


Small Poppies program offers a range of two half-day workshops for gifted children in Years 1 and 2. Workshop content is designed by teachers qualified in gifted education to stimulate the interests of gifted children and is equivalent in difficulty to work in Years 3 or 4.

Students are not required to formally qualify for Small Poppies, however, students should be:

  • Students must be motivated and able to work at a Year 3 to 4 level.
  • Students must meet individual selection criteria, as specified in their workshop.
  • Students must be able to work in a group environment without additional support.
  • Students must be able to adapt to new environments and different people with ease and separate easily from parents.
  • Parents must supply a “Parent Nomination Form” available from the Brochures & Forms Page.

Places are limited and fill quickly, so it’s important to get your application forms in early and before the closing dates. Click here for our brochure and application forms.

Sponsorship

A limited number of full, half and part sponsorships are available. Sponsorship places are not allocated on academic merit but on the basis of financial hardship or geographical isolation. For more information click here.
